Social Action Ministry

The Social Action Ministry meets once each month and engages in various projects throughout the year. It is involved in helping the homeless through PADS (Public Action to deliver Shelter), supports various charities by participating in walk-a-thons, and is active in Pro-Life activities including selling flowers on Mother’s Day. It also sponsors the HeartWarmers ministrys. Current projects include working at Shepherd’s Table, a Catholic Charities soup kitchen in Joliet, on at least one morning per month.

Sharing Parish Program with St. Procopius Parish
St. Elizabeth Seton Parish and St. Procopius Parish in Chicago have been paired through the Archdiocesan program that brings together diverse parishes in order to increase the effectiveness of each. St. Elizabeth Seton Parish has helped St. Procopius Parish by holding collections for books, clothing, household items, Christmas presents, and holiday turkeys and hams. St. Elizabeth Seton parishioners also use designated envelopes to contribute to the financial support of St. Procopius Parish. St. Procopius Parish regularly sends their thanks, often participates in shared liturgies, and extends invitations to the members of St. Elizabeth Seton parish to attend their annual summer festival and their celebration of The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Caring For Our
Parents
If you are
responsible for the care of an elderly person, you may experience
many different emotions and, at times, feel burdened by this
responsibility. If so, you are not alone. Many Seton parishioners
find themselves in this same situation.
You are invited to participate in monthly gatherings held in our
Cornerstone Building (corner of 167th St. and 94th Ave.) beginning
at 9:30am. The purpose
of this gathering is to provide you with
information from professionals, offer support, ask questions and
meet other parishioners who are caring for their parents. Please see
our church bulletin for further information regarding upcoming
dates.
